G’day! It’s been a hectic year of motorsport action so far, but I had chance to watch some different sports action over the weekend. I headed out to Allphones Arena in Sydney to watch the 2015 edition of the USA vs Canada Ice Hockey.
I haven’t had the chance to photograph a lot of different sports this year, or any other sports really. However there are a few sport’s I’d really like the opportunity to photograph in addition to my motorsport commitments. Ice Hockey is certainly on that list, and while I was just a spectator at this event in Sydney and I wasn’t allowed to take my professional camera gear with me, here are a few shots I took on a pocket camera (Sony RX100) that I really liked.
Sensational sunset waiting to head into the arena.
A variety of action shots from throughout the game.
It was good to see some NHL and AHL players make the trip down to Australia for the 4 game series. While it wasn’t NHL level hockey it was a good match for what is ultimately an exhibition game. Now I can sit down and watch the rest of the NHL Stanley Cup finals.
In the end it was the USA won the game with 6 goals, over Canada 1 goal. Next time I’m make the trip over the North America I’ll have to catch another NHL game.
If you want to see my photos from last years game check out that blog post.
That wraps up my favourite photos from the USA vs Canada Ice Hockey in Sydney. I’ll be back to my usual Motorsport photos with a blog post from Retro Speedfest up shortly.
